Brother Dream Machine Innov-is XV 8500d

I purchased this machine on the first of this month. I haven't had time to post lately because I have been too busy learning its features. There are so  many wonderful features to learn on this machine that I have to make a daily schedule so that I don't spend all day playing on my new toy. I love it!! I love that you can scan and then embroider an object. I have scanned several times and have had nice results. I love the large color screen, the large throat area, I love that you can sew with the embroidery unit attached, stitch quality is superb. I don't regret having purchased this wonderful machine. Now back to having sew much fun.

Butterick 5585, Sewing an infant sweater

This is Butterick Pattern 5585. I added an eyelet trim to the sleeves.

I also decided to make my own facing. The pattern has a self facing, but the fabric I used was thick, so to use the self facing would have made it really difficult to sew the buttonholes.

Sewing Dresses for Easter

These are dresses and sweaters I sewed to donate for Easter.

McCalls 6018

I made this sweater using McCalls 6018. I used an interlock knit (found on the value table) purchased from Hancock Fabrics.

Butterick 5980

This is Butterick pattern 5980. It is fully lined. I chose to make this using Tutti Frutti fabric I purchased from Joanne Fabrics. I did add some color around the neckline using purchased flowers.

McCalls 6018

I wanted a sweater to complement the dress you see in the pic below. I could not find a sweater pattern, so I went with McCalls 6018. Actually, the shrug was perfect for this dress because it does not cover the tie in the back.
